Happy Easter to Everyone!
I found this really nice blog called How About Orange. The designer who writes this blog Jessica Jones had a perfect idea of painting Easter eggs like Pantone chips.
How cute :)
Beautiful packaging design! God how much I love british design. Simple colours, playful typography and the overall retro/very modern style.
Of course the John John website is also so stylish.
I like!

left brain: “I am the left brain. I am a scientist. A mathematician. I love the familiar. I categorize. I am accurate. Linear. Analytical. Strategic. I am practical. Always in control. A master of words and language. Realistic. I calculate equations and play with numbers. I am order. I am logic. I know exactly who I am.” right brain: “I am the right brain. I am creativity. A free spirit. I am passion. Yearning. Sensuality. I am the sound of roaring laughter. I am taste. The feeling of sand beneath bare feat. I am movement. Vivid colors. I am the urge to paint on an empty canvas. I am boundless imagination. Art. Poetry. I sense. I feel. I am everything I wanted to be.” Love this ad!
Aaahh, love these! Check out Peter Ibruegger’s website - there is even more interesting stuff which I think is brilliant as a present.
This is a quick preview of my second set of wedding stationery I designed. Some visuals and home printed mock ups. Looking forward to see it all printed.
The design is based on my previous one as it is very simple, modern and elegant style, printed on metallic and tracing paper.
I developed identity with a logo/symbol that’s being repeated all over the materials in different ways.
Lovely little trailer for a film on leading Canadian designer, educator and painter Burton Kramer by Greg Durrell of A Brief History Of. I soo agree with everything he says. Design is a way of life! Lovely retrospective book available here as well.

Erik Spiekermann views on digital typography
Elliot Jay Stocks, Founder and Editor of Type Journal 8faces interviews Erik Spiekermann who shares his thoughts on designing for small screens and continues the conversation we had with Erik at Typo London in October.
He describes screens as ‘bad paper’ and advises designing for them as such. Mobile screens, he reiterates, simply require the same design principles as used when designing for any small format (but with more options at our disposal like animation & colour etc.). He believes that now web designers have mastered the technical challenges that distracted them from the design process, the focus can now be restored.
In response to Erik’s comments about his reputation for black, white and red designs, some eagle-eyed viewer left an amusing YouTube comment on Erik’s attire: black trousers, white shirt and red socks. Masterful visual reinforcement or absent-minded habit?

Have a look at this guy’s portfolio. Really beautiful stuff.
For example this vintage type exploration for a new clothing company in Boston. So lovely.

I just discovered an amazing design collective PAPERSELF based in London, that unites artists, designers and manufactures. Its specialisation is design made from paper. You can get furniture, homeware or accessorises. I got totally blown away by these beautiful paper false eyelashes.
Their new eyelashes collection inspired by nineteenth century French silk bobbin lace is held in the collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum. I believe you can get them there, but if you don’t have time to go to the V&A, you can easily purchase them online. One set is around £13.
Well, as Christmas time is also the party time, I think it is time to get some eyelashes styling :)
